About me...
I am a 21 year old currently-hobbyist-coder/devver.
This past December of 2009, I obtained my Bachelors in Science of Computer Science from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
I obtained my Associates degree in Computer Science in the Fall of 2006 from Longview Community College.
I have been interested in video games all my life, and I have been learning to program since
way back when I was about eight; first beginning with Power Basic, and later on getting a copy of Visual Basic 5
from my dad when I was around twelve.
From there, I picked up C++ around the age of fifteen, and Allegro around the age of sixteen.
Since then I have shifted towards primarily using C++ with SDL, but I've also spent some time learning OpenGL.
C++ is my primary language, but I've played around with C# and Java, as well as JavaScript and Lua.
Lately, I've been learning more about Java, as well as learning more about software design, design processes, and code structuring.
I have always been very passionate about programming and game design, having "pre-teen crushes"
on people like John Carmack and Ron Gilbert, rather than Backstreet Boys and such. (Okay maybe that's a little creepy).
Aside from programming, I also grew up learning the piano and drawing, so I've been
developing those skills more towards game design as of late.
I try to upkeep a public domain graphics and music section for the site, and I also sometimes contribute
to other peoples' games.
I also enjoy teaching others, and once I stopped tutoring math, I began creating written and video tutorials
on hobbyist game programming. I try to provide the sort of resources I lacked when learning about game development.
I have an intense infautation with bad movies and video games, from things like the
Action 52 to ShadowGate to Skuljagger. Of course, I also love great games,
like the old LucasArts adventures, old SNES Mario games, many Atlas-made games, anything by
John Carmack, Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer, Hideo Kojima, or Cliffy B.
My favorite genres are platformers, 3rd person action games, and action-RPGs, but I have and will play almost everything.
Okay, that's enough about me.
