Share our stories, donate for justice

respectTomorrow, it will be two weeks since the U.S. election. Many of us have been moved to protest, contact our representatives, donate to organizations that support justice, and reach out to support those who are afraid.

We’re afraid, too.

On an individual level, we can each do our part, but sometimes it doesn’t feel like it’s enough. We must be vocal and let the government know that it is not okay to take away peoples’ rights, to allow abuses and hate crimes to occur, to allow the new administration to appoint people that terrify our citizens. We must stop being silent and passive. We have to defend each other. We have to humanize each other. We have to respect each other.

What is this?

Right now, this is just a suggestion, a call to action, and we will see where it goes. We don’t have a concrete plan in place right now, but would love collaborators to help us figure out what we want to do.

Here’s the suggestion for now: Let’s make games and tell our stories. Tell about the challenges we’ve faced and still face. Tell about how this election has made us feel. Tell about how we’re afraid for the safety of the environment. Any story you have, tell it.

Together, we will collaborate. Let’s pair artists and programmers, let’s share resources, let’s teach each other, let’s work together.

Then, let’s sell our games, and donate a portion of what we earn to an organization that protects people.

Let’s do this together. We are more vocal as a group than individually.

If you’re interested in collaborating, discussing, socializing, and working with us, reach out! Moosader has a Slack channel (basically a series of chatrooms) where we can get the ball rolling and brainstorm.

Email Rachel at: Rachel@Moosader.com , let us know what email address you’d like to use for the Slack invite, and let us know what skills you have. Even if you’re not confident enough to work on a game itself, your input is valued! You can help guide us and try out our games. You can help get the word out.
